Harvest Moon 2017

Finally got a decent picture of the full moon!

This year, the October Full Moon is also a Harvest Moon! That’s because it’s the full Moon closest to the Northern Hemisphere’s autumnal equinox.  Around the Harvest Moon, the moonrise happens soon after sunset for several evenings in a row, which traditionally allowed farmers to have much more light to finish their harvest! October 5th is actual “full moon”. Day 277/365.
